Asahina Shigeru is not what one expects from an Asahina. He has trained with the Daidoji Iron Warriors, and is now a student of the Kakita Dueling Academy. He serves a Daidoji daimyo, and has their tattoos on his forearms; but he fights as much with the forms of the duelist as with theirs. He is neither a pacifist nor a shugenja, but strives to be a model and honorable Samurai.
He currently serves as a chui in the 3rd Imperial Legion.
