Crane Clan
From Heroes Of Rokugan
Status of the Crane Clan: 1137
While all of the clans are still recovering from the Clan War and the War Against Shadow, there are a number of issues that continue to trouble the Crane: The recent civil war, the Second Yasuki war, and the devastation caused by the great sea spider have put the Crane in a bind physically, both in terms of production and population, while the fact that the Emperor does not have a Crane bride has hampered them socially. This is not to say that the clan is weak by any means (certainly no more than the others from the recent conflicts), but they are currently focusing on rebuilding the families, finalizing the repairs on their lands, and defending their eternal hold on the courts.
- Crane Clan Champion: Shared between Daidoji Uji and Kakita Yoshi
- Asahina Family Daimyo: Asahina Koji (Tamako's brother, Sekawa & Kimita's father)
- Daidoji Family Daimyo: Daidoji Uji
- Doji Family Daimyo: Doji Narumi (mother and regent for Kurohito)
- Kakita Family Daimyo: Kakita Yoshi
- Emerald Champion: Kakita Toshiken (Seppun Toshiken)
The Crane’s views on the other clans:
- Crab: When all you have is a hammer, all of your problems appear as nails.
- Dragon: If you cannot find another Kakita with whom to test your iai, a Mirumoto will suffice.
- Lion: If only the joke about the Akodo who declared war against his undercooked rice were a fiction…
- Mantis: Their great wealth comes from taxing the chip on their shoulder. Still, do not shrink from hiring them; thier reliability is never in question.
- Phoenix: They strive for peace and civility within the Empire, even in tumultuous times, just as we do.
- Scorpion: Their penchant for dishonor makes them predictable and, given the right bait, easily manipulated.
- Unicorn: Our long-lost cousins. Their ways are strange, but they work for peace, and to that end make excellent allies.
- Minor Clans: They make excellent allies and distractions.
- Ronin: Ignore the spectacle, ignore the spectacle....
