A tall, thin man with long arms, large hands, and a shaved head, Mirumoto Kissaki is a returned spirit, originally from the Dawn of the Empire period of Rokugan. A student of Mirumoto Hojatsu, he fell in the year 42 while defending the Hantei from an oni and was sent to Yomi for his eternal reward. When Toturi I came to the spirit realms asking for soldiers to fight the Shadow, Kissaki immediately volunteered. He is now a sensei in the Mirumoto Iron Mountain dojo, a student the Soul of the Dragon Dojo (Hojatsu's Legacy), and an assistant in the Imperial Dojo. However, this last appointment has been put on indefinite hiatus due to... health concerns.

He has recovered his original daisho, Daikiku (katana, reforged by Togashi Nyoko and kept safe by the Seppun) and Daiume (wakizashi, reforged by Tsi Sanzo), and is now currently writing memoirs and letters, documenting events from his prior life, teaching students in the dojo, spreading knowledge of the Thousand Years of Steel kata to encourage unity among the clans, and using his contacts and resources to build the Dragon Heart Plain into prosperous and safe provinces for the Dragon clan.

After extensive travel through the burning sands, Kissaki has recently married a shugenja of the Unicorn, Moto (now Mirumoto) Aisha, and has 5 adopted children; two have recently passed their gempukku in the Horiuchi shugenja school, two others are training with the Agasha shugenja school, and the youngest will be applying to the Mirumoto bushi school soon. As of Hantei 1142, they have a newborn son, too.
