Background

Born in the year 1117, Hida Hideo is the second oldest of 5 children. Hideo's older brother, Daichi, was born 7 years before Hideo, and by the time Hideo was in his teens, Daichi had completed the training necessary to serve on the wall. When the call went out for brave Crab to join in the battle of Oblivion's Gate, Daichi was one of the first to volunteer, and in the ensuing battle, lost his life defending the Empire. This tragedy had a huge impact on Hideo, who blamed the Lying Darkness for the death of his brother, but also partly blamed himself for not being there. As a result, Hideo's driving goal in life is to serve on the wall, and become strong enough to destroy any Oni or other tainted creature who threaten the Empire. Hideo's other siblings include two younger sisters and a younger brother.
