Kaibun

Kaibun, Jade Champion:

The first Jade Champion in centuries, Kaibun is a controversial figure to say the least.

Until recently the Master of Fire, he turned away from his clan after the Shattering of the Heavens in order to focus his attention on the cause of a spiritual disaster of unprecedented magnitude.

Taking the name Kaibun (“Ashes”), he proclaimed himself the Jade Champion – a declaration that would not have worked without the support of the remaining Imperial authority represented by the rest of the Regency Council.

His magical power is without question, and his devotion to the spiritual defense of the Empire is obvious, but his political acumen is questionable. While Kaibun’s conflict with the Master of Void over the surviving Master’s refusal to take action remains unresolved, he still has a great deal of support in the Phoenix.

His symbol on the Regency Council is the Hasu, the lotus that is a token of enlightenment and purity.
